How much water do you drink daily? I am going to make an assumption that you are not drinking enough; I am not singling you out, most people don’t. It is well known that you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. To be more exact you should drink half of your body weight in water. (Ex: I weigh 120 pounds, divide that by 2 and you get 60. So I should drink at least 60 ounces of water a day. It sounds more overwhelming than it actually is)
But why should you drink water? Because water is amazing, that’s why. Water holds the key to living a healthy life and is a significant tool in weight loss.
Water aids in digestion. It ensures that your organs are working properly which helps you metabolize food faster.
Do you feel tired often? Water helps to convert food to energy. Dehydration can also lead to a tired and lagging body, so instead of picking up your second cup of coffee try drinking another glass of water. The more energy you have the more active you are. An active life is a healthy life. Being properly hydrated will leave your mind feeling clear and more focused which is helpful at home and in the work place.
Do you suffer from arthritis or another disease that leaves your joints sore and inflamed? Drink up! Water can reduce the amount of inflammation in your joints. I live with rheumatoid arthritis and I find when I do not drink enough water my joints feel tighter than normal. With warmer weather approaching increasing the amount of water you intake is very important to keeping your joints properly nourished.
Water can also help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and help diminish those pesky blemishes. Drinking adequate water flushes toxins from your body- eliminating waste while regulating your body temperature. Another reason it is important to stay hydrating in the hot summer months.
With all of these benefits for your body, inside and out- are you still searching for another reason to drink more H2O? How about the fact that it is calorie free. How many things can you say that about? So what are you waiting for? Pour yourself a nice tall cold one, while your at it pour one for a loved one too.
